Our Annual Summer Retreat will begin with the combined empowerments for The Heart-Essence of the Lake-Born Vajra and Orgyen Khandro Norlha, with Tulku Thadral Rinpoche. The following days we will receive Oral Transmissions (Lungs) and practice Tsokye T'huk T'hik (The Heart-Essence of the Lake-Born Vajra) and Orgyen Khandro Norlha, as Tseyang Khatrod, a uniquely uplifting combination of long-life and wealth-gathering practices.
Troma Ngondro & Four Feasts Empowerment with Tulku Thadral Rinpoche, Oral Transmissions (Lungs), Teachings and Practice. These practices are generally undertaken only after completion of the general Preliminary Practices, students who have an interest in the Troma Cycle, or in Dzogchen in general, are urged to attend the retreat. “Through this practice we can accomplish the Great Transference Rainbow Body in this very lifetime, just as thirteen of Dudjom Lingpa’s disciples did, and just as followers of this lineage continue to do up until now.” - Lama Sonam Tsering Rinpoche
Kyabje Dudjom Rinpoche compiled this 100 Peaceful and Wrathful Deity practice based on a Karma Lingpa treasure, as a method for practitioners to achieve fully enlightened Buddhahood by removing obstacles to the path, through restoring all broken precepts, vows and tantric commitments. Included in this retreat is a Neydren ceremony to help sentient beings who have passed and are wandering in the bardo.\
Lama Sonam Rinpoche reminds us that, "Our teacher, the perfect Buddha, through his great skillfulness and limitless compassion, gave an unimaginable variety of nectar-like Dharma teachings according to the different predispositions, faculties, and fortune of beings. The most supreme, the very best of all those teachings, is this complete and deceitless clear light Secret Mantra Vajrayana vehicle through which one can accomplish buddhahood in one lifetime, in which there is the path of diligent practice for those whose are inclined to gradual progress, and the supreme sudden path for those of the sharpest faculties and who have a karmic connection from past lives.
"We have the good fortune and karmic connection to have faith in the Lama, Guru Rinpoche, and to be able to practice this Collection of Seven Treasures, the most supreme among all Lama Accomplishment (Ladrup) practices. It was compiled by His Holiness Dudjom Rinpoche from seven great treasures of the Nyingma Lineage.
Pema Osel Ling's Children's Retreat is an opportunity for children to learn about the Dharma with age-appropriate activities in a supportive and fun environment while their parents attend Drupchen retreat.
Children's Retreat at Pema Osel Ling, held in conjunction with Guru Rinpoche Seven Treasures Retreat, offers families a means of connecting with the Dharma in an authentic, practice-oriented environment, while providing special care and attention to the needs and capacities of young family members ages 4-15. Children must have at least one parent in attendance at Drupchen. Parents take turns assisting with the Youth Retreat.
July 5 is Guru Rinpoche's Birthday, when we welcome the Eight Manifestations of Guru Rinpoche with ritual dance and song. Join us in the morning for the offering of siddhis (accomplishment ritual and sacred substances) and tsok (feast offering) for the conclusion of the Summer Retreat. The traditional Tibetan sacred dancing and Lingdro folk dances will occur throughout the day in the shrine room.

Lama Sonam Rinpoche gives this background about our Troma Retreat:
"This year during Summer Retreat we will practice Tröma Nagmo from Traktung Dudjom Lingpa’s pure vision treasure revelation Chönyi Namkhay Longdzö, The Treasury of the Expanse of the Sky of Dharmata: The Profound Heart-Essence of Mahasiddha Saraha, Pith Instructions for Severing Attachment and Expectations and Recognizing the Natural State of One’s Own Mind.
"In the vajra speech of the root text it says,
I, Saraha, the Lord of Siddhas,
Keeper of the secret treasury of the dakinis,
Entrust this most essential heart essence,
Which is only for a few fortunate disciples,
To you, Great Traktung.
"Thus, the Great Treasure Revealer himself, in the all-encompassing completely pure wisdom display of his own phenomena, saw that the embodiment of the hundred Mahasiddhas, Glorious Saraha, and the Lake-Born Vajra Samantabhadra, Guru Rinpoche, were but different illusory dance expressions of one single wisdom. He saw them directly and actually received their blessings, and they gave him teachings through symbolic indications. Through that, the treasure box of the profound expanse of the sky-treasury of the nature of phenomena was opened through the magic of self-manifesting wisdom-awareness, and great treasure revelations welled forth inexhaustibly from his wisdom mind.
"This is the distilled essence of all of them; it is deceitless in its teachings on how to accomplish all activities and siddhis, and it is complete with all the key points of the paths of the teachings on the transcendent perfections and the practices of severance (Tib. gcod) found in Guru Padmasambhava’s treasures. Through this practice we can accomplish the Great Transference Rainbow Body in this very lifetime, just as thirteen of Dudjom Lingpa’s disciples did, and just as followers of this lineage continue to do up until now.
I, Saraha, the Lord of Siddhas,
Have placed this condensed heart essence
As a glorious protection for sentient beings in the degenerate age.
Those who have the karma to reach for the state of lasting happiness
Will receive the blessings of the profound wisdom mind lineage.
There is no doubt that they will accomplish Buddhahood in one lifetime.
"Dudjom Lingpa said, 'I practiced diligently for one lifetime and actually reached the supreme state of Buddha Vajradhara. This is my final advice for my beloved lineage holders: practice correctly, my fortunate sons.'”

For Oral Transmissions (Lungs) and Empowerment (Wang):
You can receive the full lung and empowerment by live streaming, but they must be received in real time (live). Since streaming links are send automatically upon registration, there will be no refund of streaming fees.
Participants will receive teachings and practice instruction for the Troma Ngondro (Preliminary Practices), the concise and intermediate-length sadhanas, and the Four Feasts. In the evenings we will do Troma Sadhana practice with tsok.
While Troma Ngondro is generally undertaken only after completion of the Dudjom Tersar or another general Ngondro, students who have an interest in the Troma Cycle, or in Dzogchen in general, are urged to attend the retreat. There is no specific practice commitment for students who receive the Oral Transmission and teachings during this Troma Retreat.
