Our Annual Summer Retreat will begin with the combined empowerments for The Heart-Essence of the Lake-Born Vajra and Orgyen Khandro Norlha, with Tulku Thadral Rinpoche. The following days we will receive Oral Transmissions (Lungs) and practice Tsokye T'huk T'hik (The Heart-Essence of the Lake-Born Vajra) and Orgyen Khandro Norlha, as Tseyang Khatrod, a uniquely uplifting combination of long-life and wealth-gathering practices.
Troma Ngondro & Four Feasts Empowerment with Tulku Thadral Rinpoche, Oral Transmissions (Lungs), Teachings and Practice. These practices are generally undertaken only after completion of the general Preliminary Practices, students who have an interest in the Troma Cycle, or in Dzogchen in general, are urged to attend the retreat. “Through this practice we can accomplish the Great Transference Rainbow Body in this very lifetime, just as thirteen of Dudjom Lingpa’s disciples did, and just as followers of this lineage continue to do up until now.” - Lama Sonam Tsering Rinpoche
Kyabje Dudjom Rinpoche compiled this 100 Peaceful and Wrathful Deity practice based on a Karma Lingpa treasure, as a method for practitioners to achieve fully enlightened Buddhahood by removing obstacles to the path, through restoring all broken precepts, vows and tantric commitments. Included in this retreat is a Neydren ceremony to help sentient beings who have passed and are wandering in the bardo.\
Lama Sonam Rinpoche reminds us that, "Our teacher, the perfect Buddha, through his great skillfulness and limitless compassion, gave an unimaginable variety of nectar-like Dharma teachings according to the different predispositions, faculties, and fortune of beings. The most supreme, the very best of all those teachings, is this complete and deceitless clear light Secret Mantra Vajrayana vehicle through which one can accomplish buddhahood in one lifetime, in which there is the path of diligent practice for those whose are inclined to gradual progress, and the supreme sudden path for those of the sharpest faculties and who have a karmic connection from past lives.

Children's Retreat at Pema Osel Ling, held in conjunction with Guru Rinpoche Seven Treasures Retreat, offers families a means of connecting with the Dharma in an authentic, practice-oriented environment, while providing special care and attention to the needs and capacities of young family members ages 4-15. Children must have at least one parent in attendance at Drupchen. Parents take turns assisting with the Youth Retreat.
July 5 is Guru Rinpoche's Birthday, when we welcome the Eight Manifestations of Guru Rinpoche with ritual dance and song. Join us in the morning for the offering of siddhis (accomplishment ritual and sacred substances) and tsok (feast offering) for the conclusion of the Summer Retreat. The traditional Tibetan sacred dancing and Lingdro folk dances will occur throughout the day in the shrine room.

Pema Osel Ling's Children's Retreat is an opportunity for children to learn about the Dharma with age-appropriate activities in a supportive and fun environment while their parents attend Drupchen retreat. Activities include a morning puja and tsok, and dharma lessons from experienced dharma practitioners or lamas. There are also fun, dharma-related art projects and hands-on activities (torma-making, mudras, learning the instruments, doing life release, etc). Each day ends with children joining the parents and Sangha in the Shrine room for Tsok and Sacred Dances. The children who have come to summer retreat over the years have made very special friendships and have learned about the many aspects of Buddhism.
The benefits of Children's Retreat to both parents and children are easy to see. One of the long-time Children's Retreatants says, "The lamas teach me to do good things, think good things, and say good things. This helps me in my life and at school. I love kids' retreat!"

Retreat Description
Drupchen (Great Accomplishment) is an extensive practice retreat. In the Collection of Seven Treasures: The Mind Accomplishment of the Lama we perform this highly elaborate Guru Rinpoche Guru Yoga practice as a group, drawing on the full array of the skillful means of Vajrayana practice, such as the creation of the mandala, group sadhana practice, tsok offerings, 24-hour mantra recitation, ritual music, mudra, fire pujas, and sacred dance. Due to Guru Rinpoche's previous compassionate aspirations for these degenerate times, the practice carries the most penetrating compassion and wisdom blessings. The Oral Transmission (Lung) will be offered for the Collection of Seven Treasures sadhana immediately after the Guru Rinpoche empowerment on June 27th. The lung and empowerment may be received by live streaming in real time.

He compiled them all into one simple practice which encompasses the entire Nyingma Lineage, through which we can actually accomplish enlightenment in a single lifetime."

In order to accomplish the four enlightened activities of pacifying, wrathful, magnetizing and enriching, we use skillful means related to the elements. Jinsek is a ritual of generously burning offerings using the fire element to accomplish enlightened activities quickly and powerfully. Jinsek is also related in particular to this “Collection of Seven Treasures” Guru Rinpoche Drupchen. The benefit of performing jinsek or even making a connection with them is immense, both relatively and ultimately. We invite you to make a connection by sponsoring any of the four activities.
o Pacifying (Zhiway Jinsek): This activity heals the imbalances of physical elements that result in sickness; removes demonic energy; pacifies karmic defilements of countless lifetimes until now; and liberates us from all unwanted circumstances. June 28 @ 9:30 am (date and time subject to change).
o Enriching (Gyaybay Jinsek): Longevity, merit, glory, wealth, splendor, powerful influence, fame, good reputation, wisdom and all enlightened qualities are enriched and expanded. July 4 @ 10:30 am (date and time subject to change).
o Magnetizing (Wang-gi Jinsek): Gods, demons, and nagas are brought under one’s control; queens, ministers, their retinues, all qualities of the three realms of cyclic existence, any worldly desirable qualities, and glorious qualities of the Dharma path, such as meditative experience, realization, and enlightened wisdom qualities, are magnetized and brought under one’s control. o Wrathful (Drakpö Jinsek): All enemies, obstructers, and those who bring harm both to worldly life and the path of enlightenment are eliminated and liberated. July 1 @ 8:00 pm (date and time subject to change).

Children stay with parents for Shrine Room activities on June 27 and Juy 5.
